Downtown San Diego Condos: Texas Style Living Part 1
Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 7:27PM We traveled to San Antonio and Austin last weekend for a family wedding. What an eye opener we had. Texas does not appear to have the same stress our real estate market currently is experiencing. Downtown San Diego and Downtown San Antonio are two different worlds.

Our family "walking" vacation. I am the slowest and at the end of the line.
This is our typical "family" vacation. I call it the "walking vacation." It doesn't matter where we are. This is how we walk. My husband paces way ahead. Victoria follows up trying to keep equal distance between her mother and father, and I trudge along...the slowest of the bunch.
San Antonio is famous for its Riverwalk. If you have been to San Antonio, you understand what I mean. The Riverwalk wanders along the river and there are lots of restaurants, stores and bars to entertain oneself. We had our first great Tex Mex meal along the Riverwalk.
Based on the economy, or the California economy, we were really surprised at how busy the Riverwalk was, whether in the afternoon or evening. Restaurants had waiting lists, and crowds moved along the Riverwalk. It was in the middle of the week, and it was packed. We had gotten used to our slower restaurants and it was a surprise to see how busy the tourist areas of San Antonio were compared to some of our San Diego tourist areas.
There is an affinity between San Diego and San Antonio. Both are heavily influenced by Mexican culture. Some of the same holidays are celebrated. I personally loved this statue for Day of the Dead. This statue is located in a fantastic restaurant, bakery and mariachi bar called Mi Tierra .
Mi Tierra's Day of the Dead. Great and famous San Antonio restaurant on Produce Row.
