Downtown San Diego County: 92101 vs San Diego County Condos

Ever wonder how does the San Diego condo market sales stack up against the entire San Diego County condo sales market?  For us, a picture is easier to understand.  Some people work best with the written word.  We work best with pictures.  Not sure what that says about us, other than we are visual.  Here are two San Diego graphs.  The first chart is for Downtown San Diego, and more specifically Downtown San Diego condos.

As you can see, market time is about 2 weeks longer for Downtown San Diego condos.  That's really not surprising because financing a condo in a high rise is a little more complicated than financing a condo in a strictly residential area.  High-rise condos have a smaller lender pool.

Owners who purchase Downtown want the urban lifestyle and are o.k. with not having a private garage. As you move out from the Downtown San Diego core, condo square footage tends to be larger, and the mix of one, two and three-bedroom condos increases.  It is hard to find a three-bedroom condo in Downtown San Diego, and when you do, there is a premium price to pay.
