Minor League Baseball in San Diego

Any true fan of baseball will tell you that there is more to the sport than the major leagues. The minor leagues offer games that are more accessible to both the average fan as well as the true fanatic. If you are looking to get your fix of minor league baseball in San Diego, you will be pleased to learn that there are several teams and leagues regularly holding games in the area. With the baseball season behind us, these teams will get started up before you  know it!

The recent announcement to build a $50 million stadium in San Diego had many fans of minor league baseball excited. The 7,500 seat stadium will be the home of the Triple “A” team, which is owned by Jeff Moorad (who also owns the Padres).

With the construction of the new stadium, San Diego baseball fans will now have multiple locations and multiple leagues to satiate their thirst for baseball games. The Lake Elsinore Storm have long held San Diego residents captivated, and with multiple series winnings, it is no surprise.

In the future, even more leagues and more teams are scheduled to come through San Diego, as well as many major league exhibition games.

Games are held regularly, sometimes as often as seven days a week, from April through September. Make sure that you grab your season tickets to get the cheapest possible pricing for the best seats.

There are a number of different plans available for anyone interested in purchasing season tickets, including the flex plan. Those interested can also host picnics at the park, helping them get the most enjoyment out of their day at the stadium.

Baseball games can be a great way to bring the whole family together, and nothing is as exciting as catching a ball hit into the stands. Baseball games offer the perfect combination of excitement and relaxation. With other sports, the stadium will usually be packed and full of rowdy fans. At baseball games, there is usually enough room for you and your family to spread out and enjoy yourselves without having to worry about others.

Food and beverages can be expensive, so try to eat before arriving at the stadium. Outside food and beverages are not allowed inside, and there are no exceptions to this. It’s a good idea to bring a small amount of cash ($20 to $50) to dedicate towards purchasing concessions. This will help to keep you and your family from spending more than anticipated on pretzels and hotdogs.

Parking at the stadium can be quite straight forward. It’s very rare to find a full parking lot. If you can take public transportation it will save a significant amount of money on parking fees.

The San Diego Minor League Baseball scene offers plenty of opportunities for baseball fans to get their fix without having to pay the huge fees associated with the major league games.
