Downtown San Diego Condos: Stunning Historical San Diego Photos
Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 8:08PM These are among the most fabulous historical photos I have seen of San Diego. You can even see why North Island Naval Station was originally called North Island. It was an island. These photos were taken aroun 1912. The World Exposition in Balboa Park would not occur until 1915 and you can see a lot of work going on Downtown getting ready for this major event. The photo of the U.S. Grant is superb and you can see it is just the same today. Here are several of these Downtown San Diego photos and I will continue to share the others over the next little while.
For those of you who never saw the original Horton Plaza, here is a great photo.
Isn't the U.S. Grant the same 100 years later?
Look at San Diego Harbor. See North Island? Now you can understand where North Island got its name.
